General Guidelines
Workshop Format
The purpose of a workshop is to provide a participatory opportunity for a small group of participants to acquire knowledge about a particular topic or receive training in a skill set.
If you are interested in conducting a workshop, please submit an abstract following the guidelines below.
Each workshop session will last 90 minutes.
Each workshop organizer should complete the applications using the online facility, structuring and submitting the abstracts to include:
- a general description of the organized session with its purpose and motivation;
- an outline of the material to be covered in the workshop;
- authors and title of each contribution; and
- learning objectives, clearly identifying the outcomes or actions participants can expect to demonstrate as a result of participating in the workshop.
Comprehensive instructions are included as part of the on line application process.
Handouts
Expect that people attending your session will want hand-outs and, if appropriate, attached references. Please plan accordingly.
Audiovisual Guidelines
Workshops can be supported with a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Each workshop meeting room will be equipped with:
- a screen
- an LCD data projector
- a computer running MS Windows with MS PowerPoint installed (only Windows systems will be available)
- support staff to assist you to get your presentation up and running.
Do not bring personal computers for your presentation. Dark printing on light transparencies is suggested.
