Oral Presentations
Please note - ALL presenters must register for the conference.
General Guidelines
Each 90 minute time-room slot must accommodate up to 4 oral presentations. Accordingly, each will be allotted 20 minutes: 15 minutes oral presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers with minimal time allowed for moving between presenters and introductions. Due to the tight schedule and to ensure all presenters have equal opportunity, the session chairs will be instructed to strictly enforce session times. Please do not go over the allotted time.
Target your remarks to the audience. Participants will include academic researchers, community members, health practitioners and policy makers.
Focus on key messages in your presentation. Quickly summarize your methodology and link your key outcomes and implications for the field to the conference themes. Do not try to do too much. Try to summarize your key points at the end of your presentation.
Audiovisual guidelines
Support your oral presentation with a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Each oral presentation room will be equipped with:
- A screen
- An LCD data projector
- A computer running MS Windows with MS PowerPoint installed
- Only PC systems will be available
- Please do not bring personal computers for your presentation
- Dark printing on light transparencies is suggested
For Computer/Electronic Presentations:
Computerized presentations must be in Microsoft PowerPoint only. Support staff will be available to assist you to get your presentation up and running.
Handouts
Expect that there will be 30-50 people attending your session and bring hand-outs with you including a list of suggested readings if appropriate.
